Acton to Wood Lane ... on-going road works

As part of the "Cycleway 34" project (part of the project previously called the Cycling Superhighway), that we have mentioned here before, there will be roads and pavement works around the A40 that will disrupt traffic flows and might bring more congestion into Acton.
So - if you see longer than usual traffic backups along Horn Lane, or more vehicles going past Acton Park or North Acton Playing Fields then this could be the reason.

TfL has a page about this project that you can reach via https://tfl.gov.uk/acton-wood-lane

Some of the significant work over coming weeks will affect traffic:

  • 28 Oct to 24 Nov - The left turn slip from the westbound A40 into Leamington Park will be closed
  • 25 Nov to 6 Jan - The A40 westbound slip road from Horn Lane will be closed
  • 25 Nov to 6 Jan - The slip road from the A50 westbound onto Old Oak Road will be closed
  • 6 Jan to 3 Feb - The slip road from Old Oak Common Lane onto the A50 westbound will be closed

Buses
Bus stops will be kept open wherever possible but may be subject to temporary closures or relocation.

Walking and cycling
Access to footways, crossings and cycle paths will be maintained at all times.
Where it cannot they will put safe, signed diversion routes in place.
